In the tapestry of our shared existence,
Threads of unity and division intertwine,
We gather, yet stand apart, in persistence,
Splitting hairs, drawing lines so fine.
Voices rise in a cacophony of views,
Each one certain of their righteous path,
Yet in the discord, what do we lose?
A chance for harmony, a respite from wrath.
We build walls with words, brick by brick,
Fortresses of belief, unyielding and tall,
But in our hearts, the clock does tick,
Yearning for a bridge, a way to break the fall.
Are we not all seekers of the same light?
Wandering souls in search of peace,
Why then do we engage in endless fight,
When love and understanding could release?
In the mirror of the other, see yourself,
A reflection of hopes, fears, and dreams,
Let empathy be the book on the shelf,
From which we learn, beyond the seams.
So let us not split hairs, but weave,
A fabric of community, strong and kind,
In unity, let us believe,
And leave the pettiness behind. -30-
